Slow Cooker Pasta Fagioli
Personally, I could use my slow cooker every day, especially for slow cooker pasta recipes- they are so easy to put together! We tried this spicy sausage, bean, and pasta soup from a restaurant once and it reminded me of Pasta Fagioli, but thicker. It was delicious. I had to recreate it at home. Using the same basic ingredients as the soup we just spruced it up a bit.
This is also one of those slow cooker pasta recipes that is great for parties, potlucks, or other get-togethers. Plan to make it at home OR since it is so easy just bring it along and throw together at the party.
What is Pasta e Fagioli?
Actually most don't realize this, but the words mean "pasta and beans". It is a traditional Italian Soup recipe. The little circles of pasta are the perfect bite size to be able to shovel full spoonfuls into your mouth. They hold the sauce and flavor. Italian sausage puts it over the top.
Making our Slow Cooker Pasta Fagioli
Ingredients
- 16 ounces pasta
- 12 ounces Smoke Sausage
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 2 cups chicken broth
- ½ cup spicy pepperoncini peppers chopped and seeded
- ¼ cup pepperocini juice
- ¼ green salsa verde sauce
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 2-3 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons chili pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 16 ounces black beans
- 16 ounces spicy pinto beans
Directions
Before getting started, gather up all your ingredients. I find especially with recipes like this with many ingredients, it makes it so much easier so you're not running around the kitchen.
In a medium sized skillet, heat olive oil and add sausage and brown on both sides. Add the garlic and cook for approximately 1 minute and set aside. Slow Cooker Pasta Fagioli
In a large slow cooker , add the remaining ingredients and stir until well combined and cook on low for 2-3 hours.

- 1 tablespoon olive oil

- 2 cups chicken broth
- 6 ounces tomato paste
