The best keto bacon ever starts with a sweetness from being candied that can't be beat and ends with just a touch of a tingle, a must try low carb snack. Be sure to check the FAQs below the recipe card for more details.
What is Keto Candied Bacon?
Our candied bacon is made keto approved by using a brown sugar alternative and using a brand of bacon already that is already low carb with less added sugar. The process of "candied" bacon occurs when something sweet like sugar, honey or sweeteners are applied before cooking. The sugars "candy" the bacon during the cooking process.
Is Bacon Keto?
Bacon is natural low in carbs and keto approved, however there are some brands that add sugar or honey to their recipe. Be on the lookout for ingredients that do not include these. A simple straight forward bacon usually contains almost NO carbs at all, coming in at around .1g per slice.

Notes
We have done this both with and without flipping the bacon mid way through. Believe it or not, we ended up with similar results each time. My guess is that the bacon basically sits and cooks in it's own grease either way. SO flipping the bacon between is totally up to you. Certainly let us know which way you tried and how you liked it.

We are very partial to all Lakanto products. I believe the flavor of monkfruit is the most mild sweetener out there with no cooling effect or weird after taste.
Yes, absolutely! To make this recipe the traditional way, simply skip the sweeteners and use brown sugar as well as regular maple syrup.
Yes! We do actually freeze it similar to the already cooked type in the store. Lay the cooked slices out between parchment paper, wrap up and place in a zip top bag. Freeze for 1 month. Eat after thawed or reheat in an air fryer.
