Philly Steak And Cheese

Crostini Appetizer

Steak and cheese is undoubtedly one of the most popular types of submarine sandwiches, I know it is in my house, but I don't always feel like having a big bulky sub. I'm always looking for new ideas for appetizers or quick dinners, but I like to keep the same classic flavor combinations that I know my family and I love. This is sort of a deconstructed steak and cheese. This appetizer gives you all the yummy goodness that you would expect only in small proportions.
We all like delicious and fast right? They are so easy to whip up. Trust me, this will become your go to recipe for last minute guests or entertaining. Make it for a party, the big game, or even with a side salad or fries for a complete dinner. I would recommended keeping extra ingredients on hand to make another batch because they will go fast!

They are super simple to make. The recipe uses shaved steak that you can find at any grocery store. It comes in convenient packs ready to go. You can even use roast beef from the deli counter instead to make it even easier. They are topped with cream cheese and finished off with the perfect combo of peppers and onions. Quick trip to the oven to get golden, crunchy, and gooey. They are great little sandwiches that take less than a half hour, but look like a fancy treat.
You can even change up the veggies or seasonings to make it your own. If you're following a low carb diet, there is an option for that as well. Instead of using a baguette follow the link that I have included below for a low carb dough recipe. I love this dough recipe and you can use it for a lot of different things. For this recipe specifically it works perfect. Make the bread the same you would for a baguette and you won't even notice the difference. It toasts in the oven beautifully and holds up to the ingredients piled on top!
