About Lily's Sugar Free Chocolate Chips

Chances are that if you have been following the keto or a low carb diet, at some point Lily's Sugar Free chocolate chips have crossed in conversation.  These amazing little morsels of chocolate are completely refined sugar free! Instead, the chocolate chips are sweetened with stevia, an all natural sweetener.

The biter after taste of sweetener is not really present in these chips. Have you ever tasted a really good dark chocolate with high cacao percentage? Lily's chocolate chips are similar in flavor just not as bitter.

What Peanut Butter is Best for Keto?

For strict or paleo keto dieters, peanut butter is a big no no.   It is said that because peanuts are technically a legume, they are not on the approved ketogenic food list.

For those keto-ers who allow peanut butter into their diet it is best to choose an all natural type. Regular store or popular "kids brands" are high in added sugar and preservatives.  All natural peanut butter should have literally nothing other than just peanuts and salt on the ingredients label.

What brand all natural peanut butter do you use?

In our house we use either Teddy's or the Hannaford brand.  They both have an amazing roasted flavor. If you have a natural food store near by, check in with them, they may have a machine to make your own.  Our small town store use to have nuts and grinders to make your own!

What is Keto Buckeye Fudge?

Keto buckeye fudge is a low carb fudge alternative to the traditional buckeye fudge recipe- a layer of peanut butter fudge with a layer of melted sugar free chocolate chips ganache on the top.

This low carb peanut butter fudge recipe differs from keto buckeye fudge only by simply adding the sugar free chocolate chips to the top rather than melting them into a layer.  For a recipe similar to keto buckeye fudge see our keto low carb peanut butter chocolate bars below!

  1. I would love to try your recipes I can only eat sugarfree and low carb foods!

  2. If using natural peanut butter from a store when the peanuts are ground fresh, do I need to add salt to the recipe for it to taste good?

    • I would certainly add a pinch. But I'm sure it would still taste good without it 😉

  3. I didn't have cream on hand so I subbed canned full cream coconut milk and it separated in the pot. I continued with your instructions, it still firmed up but had a layer of coconut oil on top of the fudge. Any guidance as the taste was great with coconut milk?
