The Best Slow Cooker Pork Shoulder

Our slow cooker pork shoulder is fantastic, but maybe you are not a fan of pork?  Or maybe you are just in the mood for chicken-  try this amazing 5 Ingredient Slow Cooker Sriracha Chicken!

The key to getting this meat just right is searing it prior to putting in. The sear locks in juices and creates a yummy crusty outer  layer that will get caramelized and sticky during cooking.

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork shoulder dry with paper towels.
  2. Drizzle with Olive oil, rub with a liberal amount of pork rub mixture.

    • Hi Brett ! The BBQ sauce goes in the slow cooker after pulling and chopping the pork. I do apologize that the step was forgotten.

  1. Do you put all the sauce on before you sear it? Or do you add some more of the rub on after you've seared it?

    • Hi Josh!
The pork gets some Olive oil and rub before searing. The sauce comes after the shoulder is done cooking. Here you go-
....Drizzle with Olive oil, rub with a liberal amount of pork rub mixture.
Heat a large skillet over medium high heat, drizzle with Olive oil.
Sear each side of the shoulder for 2-3 minutes or until the meat gets a light char....
      Thank you!
