Oven Roasted Ranch Carrots Recipe
Using ranch is such an easy way to add a bit of flare and extra flavor to your dishes. A delicious change up of your every day carrot side dish. What helps make these carrots so easy? Usually for most meals the oven going already, therefore popping the carrots onto a sheet pan with some seasonings and oil is basically all there is to it.
What is Ranch Dressing Made Of?
If you ask my daughter what ranch dressing is made of she will tell you- from the powder packet. Even she recognizes the versatility of these handy little packets. The ranch packet makes a great rub for chicken, compound butter for beef, flavored mashed potatoes and of course, carrots.
Sometimes it is just nice to make a homemade version. Traditionally ranch is made of buttermilk an array of spices like garlic, onion, paprika and a whole bunch of herbs. This is the reason a lot of people use the packet. It is just easier. However, we can vouch for the fact that nothing beats a homemade ranch dressing. If you have the ambition to whip up a batch we recommend it!
Skip heating homemade ranch
For recipes like these oven roasted ranch carrots, using homemade ranch dressing isn't recommended. The carrots will turn out too greasy. Ranch dressing does some funny thing when heated. It does make an AMAZING marinade for chicken though! Instead, it is best to use the dry seasoning packet OR mix up your own homemade ranch and only use the dry seasonings.
Making these easy oven roasted ranch carrots
Serves 4
What you need:
- 8oz baby carrots
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 1 packet dried Ranch seasoning
- 1 sprig fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- pinch salt & pepper
What to do:
Preheat the oven to 425. They key to these carrots is cooking them fast and hot. The brown sugar along with the natural sugars coming out during cooking gives them a nice sticky, glazed texture.
In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, seasoning packet, brown sugar, parsley and salt & pepper until fully combined and sugar starts to dissolve.
Add the baby carrots and mix to coat evenly.
Spread the carrots out onto a cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until caramelized and tender.
Try not to over cook the carrots, they will be mushy and have a bitter burnt taste.

I love roasted carrots, and this recipe sounds amazing! I'll be trying this out on my family tonight! Both of my daughters love roasted carrots, as well, and they are leaving on a three-week trip tomorrow so I'm making them a special dinner tonight. These carrots will tie in perfectly.
Now if I can just survive the next three weeks! 🙁
I found this on Create Link Inspire, thanks for sharing! 🙂
I'm such a fan of carrots but I'm horrible at cooking them myself. Somehow, I always seem to ruin them. I'm eager to try this recipe. It looks so good, and easy enough that even I won't be able to mess it up 🙂
They are so easy, but taste gourmet 😉 LOVE the flavor of the sugars that come out with the ranch. Yummmm
Thanks ODB !
Yum! I bet these taste delicious! I love dipping my carrots in ranch, so I'm sure seasoning them with ranch would be amazing 🙂
