Keto Brussel Sprouts Recipe
I hear a lot are Brussel sprouts keto? The answer is yes, they are a great side dish that you can add into your keto side dish rotation. Whether you do roasted or an Air Fryer, This recipe can be used many ways!
What Seasoning Do You Use?
For this recipe, I used a mix of crushed almonds, parmesan, and bagel seasoning! It offers that crunchy texture that makes you feel like you are eating something indulgent instead of a vegetable. You could even dust with salt and pepper for even more flavor.
If you can find the everything but the bagel seasoning, I share how to replace it with appropriate seasonings below to make the brussel sprout side dish completely different!
Aren’t They Just Small Cabbages?
These two are not the same thing. The reason why many get confused is they look similar. They are both from the same family though.
How Do You Get The Bitterness Out?
I find that roasting or air frying these little greens will give you that crispy brussel sprout that won’t hold in that bitter taste. It helps cook them so they are crispy and tender, and loaded with good flavor.
Do I Need To Wash Them?
You do need to clean them before cooking them up. In a large bowl with cold water, rinse your sprouts If need be trim them beforehand. Then transfer them to a colander and allow the water to drop off. Then pat dry, and prep for the air fryer sprouts recipe.
How To Pick Brussel Sprouts At The Store
Start by looking for bright green heads. When you touch them to make sure they feel heavy for their size and offer a firm texture. You don’t want to buy the larger ones as they can offer a more bitter taste. Smaller Brussels sprouts offer a sweeter and tender texture.
Tip For Air Frying Brussels Sprouts
One tip I want to touch on is to make sure that when you go to use your air fryer basket or even oven, you make sure you leave room in between each sprout. If they are touching the hot air will not cook evenly. So in those spots they will be undercooked.
I always recommend cooking in batches if you have to. That way there is space for that hot air to circulate and really give you that even cook you want.

Can I Cook These Everything Seasoning Brussels Sprouts In Oven
Yes! I share all the directions below so you can grab that sheet pan and roast them up in the oven. They will cook up crispy and tender just like in the Air Fryer! I just like the speed of the air fryer and ease.
Can I Use Frozen Instead of Fresh?
Yes, you just need to cook them a few minutes in the microwave before you begin prepping them for cooking. This will help allow them to thaw and become tender so they have the correct tenderness and texture when cooked.
How To Store Leftovers
If you have leftovers simply transfer them to an airtight container. Then store in the fridge for up to three days. Anything after make sure to use your best judgment on if the sprouts are still good.
Another thing to add is these are best when served warm and fresh. Once you refrigerate them they will change in texture. The flavor is still fantastic, they just won’t offer that crispy texture.
Best Way to Reheat The Brussel Sprout Side Dish
I lay my sprouts out on a sheet pan and warm them up in the oven. It can help gain back some of that crispy texture. Or if I am in a hurry, I reach for the microwave instead. Just a quick reheat until they are warmed through.
