Why is Chicken Salad So Popular
We have a few theories as to why chicken salad is so popular. The first being the most obvious... how easy it is to make. There are so many types of chicken you can use- canned, rotisserie, legs, breasts etc. Leftovers kicked off the craze. Pinterest helped people realize that many ingredients can be tossed into your chicken and mayo mixture.
Chicken salad will take on the flavors of everything you mix into it, making it fun to experiment with so popular. Â

Can You Freeze Chicken Salad
Yes! Our dill pickle chicken salad freezes really well. We use it for meal prepping and planning ahead. For example- you can make mini chicken salad wraps with keto tortillas ahead of time, freeze and then thaw the day of. The trick to freeze chicken salad successfully starts with making sure no air can touch the food. Using an airtight container or bag is great, but if there is room for air to be, it will be.
The TRICK- So, if you fill a container and have anything over 1 inch "headspace" fold aluminum foil or stuff a baggie with paper towel and put it on top of the food, then place the container on. It will take up the extra space and prevent icing.
