How To Design A 3 Ring Binder With Duct Tape
It is back to school time ! With all of the expenses we incur at the beginning of the school year, why not find some ways to save? Each year I purchase the basic of everything and only what the kids really need. Usually I wait until a few days after school begins for another a list to come home before I buy more. That way I can avoid over spending/buying. Last year I purchased a few plain black 1″ 3 ring binders on clearance for about 20¢ each. Of course, my daughter was not thrilled that they were plain black when I pulled them out the other day to get ready for school. She is going into middle school and, well you know.
I was in Dollar Tree getting some school snacks and spotted their rolls of duct tape. Lightbulb! Note* the rolls are only $1 but they do not have nearly as much on them as a full roll. I purchased two rolls and this was enough to do two binders. Their selection was massive, they had all kinds of prints and all kinds of cool bright colors ! Much better than buying full rolls in another store for $4 ea. This way you can mix and match!
What You Need:
3 ring binder
That is it ! Total Cost $2.40
Think of an idea or design, cut your strips and utilize the edge of your table to help you. The tape from Dollar Tree is not at all as sticky as real duct tape is, so there was no residue. Another good thing is that the tape comes off the binder clean & easy if you have to move a piece.
Use a long strip along the opening edge of the binder to seal down all the ends, fold it over and press it down on the inside of the cover.
It literally took me about 5 minutes to do her’s, cutting out the letters took the longest.
